Hello- getting ready to order a cookbook from you. Have one more question. If your liver diet cookbook’s recipes are fine for all breeds and dogs regardless of whether they have issues or not, I think I would like to try it and here’s why: Small toy breeds like our Havanese are prone to digestive, liver and pancreatic issues. Ours has had non specific colitis twice and thinking about wha he ate I think it was due to too much fat in his diet those times . He currently eats a a no grain, whole foods freeze dried raw diet that has no added supplements and is 90 percent meat comprised (including organs and bone and heart muscle). I would rather home cook for him and use that food for when we travel and cannot take home cooked food. I live in a large metro but sourcing specialty organs or meats is not easily possible. Thoughts?
And thanks- so glad we found you!
I ordered the cookbook and the recipes are great. I expect this will cost around $4-5 US dollars per day to feed our 11.5 lb dog due to price of meat. He is never ill on a primary meat diet with extreme low carbs and not overfeeding. Thanks for making guides in both US and Metric measurements.
I need to say, use parchment paper (baking paper) and never aluminum foil in the oven. Aluminum foil is not inherently toxic, but can leach small amounts of aluminum into food, especially with high heat.
Is this food ok for a dachshund with IBD.. I’ve been giving prescription food but without any help..
Great advice and recipes look great. I have been feeding my chihuahua home prepared food for years but she still is a fussy eater 😅
