Is there a big difference between hills, royal canin, pro plan? For puppy’s and adults

Hi, I was wondering your thoughts on just feeding my puppy kibble.. and as a grown dog as well. Would just kibble be sufficent or would it be best to add a topper? I think you said you don’t do treats? Looking for some guidance as I very much respect your opinion. thanks!
